I am glad today is almost over!

After it being 72 degrees yesterday, I was sad to wake up to snow and rain. Throughout the day it kept getting heavier. Tonight I was suppose to hold my 1st Major League tryouts for little league baseball. The men that are helping me kept telling me all day that we should continue to hold them even with the bad weather. The Aggies coach that was running the tryouts came and said we should cancel them. So, after telling everyone all day we were going to hold them, we cancelled. It was so cold and yucky....so I am glad we did. I just felt bad because the property maintenance guy was mad at me because we were going to be playing on the fields it bad weather. All the kids that came were glad we changed the date. It has been such a messy day. Nothing has gone right. Hopefully I can wake up to a better day tomorrow.

Shaylee Lost Her 1st Tooth!

Calling Dad to tell him the good news! You can tell she was crying.

About a month or two ago Shaylee was doing her typical running (because she doesn't know how to walk) through the dining room and fell flat on her face. She loosened her two top and two bottom front teeth. The top teeth tightened up, but the bottom two never did. Today I was looking at them and the one bottom tooth was so loose it was ready to just fall out. So with the love of Grandma holding her I got some string and pulled it out. This was the first tooth I have pulled that didn't make me sick to do so. She cried after, but not because it hurt. It is such a scary thing for the first time. Soon we will be pulling the other, but I will let it loosen a bit more before doing so. Way to be brave Shaylee! I love you snaggle tooth!

Sunshine

"There is sunshine in my soul today"....that is a nice song! But besides my soul, it is suppose to be 58 degrees today and by tomorrow 72 degrees. I am ready to spring clean with the kids today. I know that is what they wanted to do. Kayson and Shaylee have been on Spring break from school since Thursday and they don't go back until Tuesday. Work has been crazy busy planning the City Celebration and finalizing baseball teams. My brother was on his way over to the house today and called and told us that "X" marks the spot and Cache Valley is the spot. I went outside to see what he was talking about and this is what I saw....a BIG "X" IN THE SKY! This is the place to be!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

It's raining, It's snowing......

Yes it is April and this is what I woke up today... SNOW! This afternoon it has been raining and has melted the snow. The weather man said this should be the last snow storm. I sure hope he is right. I am truly ready for some sunshine. The snow is beautiful, but we have had enough this winter.

I thought I would share the snow storm with you! Enjoy!

Justice Court Clerk Conference...

I just spent 3 1/2 days in Midway Utah at the Zermatt Resort & Spa http://zermatt.dolce.com/ for my second Justice Court Clerk Conference. It was three days of fantastic information to make me a better court clerk.

The first day is always my favorite! It is the Seminar Series day and I feel like I learn so much this day. Judith Rasband, Image Consultant, was our first speaker. She gave wonderful tips on professional dress and what shouldn't be worn in the workplace. She has been on many talk show...Oprah, Good Morning America and many more. She has written many books and was a fantastic speaker! We then went into our breakout sessions. Grammar Writing and Professional Etiquette. (I hope that I am using some of the great grammar writing skills I learned in this email, but I do have many bad habits when it comes to email.) Then we had "Law & Literature" which we watched To Kill a Mockingbird. This was very interesting when we started the discussion.

Day two started out with a speaker that grew up a Frequent Flier in the court room. This gave a very emotional talk. This young man is a former drug addict. He began dealing HEAVY at the age of 16. He had quite the story to tell. He is remarkable to have overcome the addiction he had (without rehab) with only the love of his family that he hurt so much. His sister was one of the committee members and a court clerk herself. The rest of the day was pondering on four different scenarios, listening to Representatives from BCI and DLD. It was all good learning!

Day three ended on a positive note. "Your mind can only hold one thought at a time, make it a positive and constructive one." Shauna Kelly-Ward, Communications Consultant, told a great story of how positive thinking can change the way you feel. Positive thinking is healing! Consciously choose your thoughts. When you think about what you are grateful for, you feel better! WOW! I really need to change my thoughts. There is no need for hate in this world and if you continue to hate, think bad thoughts and be angry you will never feel good about anything! Her words were powerful and I am going to THINK POSITIVE! I am also grateful for each of you! My life! My kids! My health! and for such a great week in Midway!

I was so happy to come home to kids that missed me. Kids that ran to the car to greet me with hugs and kisses. I am grateful for the fun job I have!

Where the heck is SPRING?

OK...so I have been wearing sandals and Capri's for the last two weeks hoping that the warmer weather is just around the corner. (Thank heaven for my space heater) The weather warmed up and I thought...GREAT, Spring is here! When I returned from St. George all the snow was melted (and there were mountains of snow when I left). To my surprise, yesterday I woke up to an inch of new snow. I love winter and all the skiing that comes with it, but the snow can LEAVE already! I am ready for the Spring weather. The kids and I starting walking last week and they are doing great! Shaylee has to walk three times as fast to keep up with me but she trucks along. We didn't go last night due to many things going on and the COLD weather. It is suppose to be 50 degrees today, but I doubt it will feel like it.

This is Cache Valley weather for ya. I guess living away for so many years I have forgotten the surprises spring brings. This valley is always teasing you...Spring, Winter, Spring, Winter....and straight to SUMMER!
